On Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared that around 500 government posts under the sports quota will be available shortly across several sectors, including the police.
Yogi stated during the Sansad Khel Mahotsav in Basti that Uttar Pradesh athletes who achieve victory in international tournaments will be given government jobs.
So far, the government has hired 500 athletes and appointed them to positions such as deputy SP and naib tehsildar.
Yogi highlighted the establishment of 500 new positions under a sports quota with a 2% allocation, stating that athletes who win international medals will not only earn government jobs, but also lifetime assistance for their sustenance.
The Chief Minister described the government's intention to establish a sports centre in each district, as well as ongoing efforts to build stadiums at the district and development block levels. In addition, each community will include a sports pitch and an open gym.
Yogi Adityanath emphasised the importance of athletic events like as Sansad Khel Mahotsav in providing opportunity for youth to exhibit their power and ability.
The government has given 65,000 sports kits to Yuva Mangal Dal and Mahila Mangal Dal, the teams in charge of developing sports facilities at the gramme panchayat level.
Yogi Adityanath, speaking on the shifting economic landscape, lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for India's rise from the 11th to the 5th largest economy in the world. He asked residents to join the country's path to become the world's third-largest economy.
Yogi congratulated BJP President JP Nadda on his recent political wins and mentioned Nadda's contributions to health facilities in Basti. According to a report in the Times of India, Adityanath stated, "Nadda Ji visited eastern UP as health minister to address issues such as encephalitis." While he was worried about the problem, he also created efficient solutions. This illness, which claimed the lives of 50,000 children in Eastern UP over a 40-year period, is now entirely under control and eliminated, and Nadda Ji's substantial involvement as health minister under PM Modi's leadership is visible in this achievement."
