After a few days of searching, authorities say they suspect the adolescent girl, who went missing before her planned induction, and her boyfriend are dead.
San Antonio Police Chief Bill McManus informed reporters Tuesday night that the remains of two people—believed to be 18-year-old Savanah Nicole Soto and her boyfriend—were discovered in a car in the city. He described the situation as "very, very perplexing."
"Detectives right now are looking at this as a possible murder, but we don't know for sure," McManus stated.

According to McManus, the two dead were discovered in the boyfriend's car and are thought to have been there for three or four days. The medical examiner will formally confirm their names, but he stated that Soto and her partner are thought to be the two people.
The female victim's pregnancy could not be confirmed by the chief, who added that the medical examiner will make that determination as well.
According to authorities, the car was discovered in northwest San Antonio in the 5900 block of Danny Kaye Drive. McManus had no idea who had found it.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Soto was last seen on Friday afternoon near Leon Valley. On Monday, the organisation placed a CLEAR Alert for Soto, which is intended to assist law enforcement in finding someone who is in danger or whose absence was not voluntary.
The adolescent mother had gone over the due date, which "caused significant concern among her family members after missing an essential medical appointment," according to a news statement issued earlier on Tuesday by Leon Valley Police Department.
Gloria Cordova, the mother of Soto, informed the San Antonio ABC affiliate KSAT that her daughter was due to be induced this past Saturday at a hospital.
Cordova told the channel, "She wasn't answering when I called her all morning; she was going straight to voicemail." "In any case, we visited the hospital. I phoned the police when she failed to show up.
Cordova said that her daughter's house was ready for the baby's birth and was clean.
Cordova said, "This is not like her," to KSAT. "She was ecstatic to have the child. The house was prepared for a newborn."
"There's no reason why she would just get up and go off and do that," she said.

Following the death of her son Ethan last year, Cordova said the family is still in shock. According to authorities, the 15-year-old was shot and killed in his San Antonio residence.
"[Savanah] knows what I went through with Ethan, and I know she doesn't want me to go through this again," she told KSAT.
In the midst of her daughter's disappearance, Cordova stated she was also unaware of the baby's paternity.
All Cordova wanted was for her to return home. "I'm worried about the baby, if she's even had the baby, if she's in danger."
On Tuesday morning, the Leon Valley Police Department said that it was looking for further witnesses and information as well as conducting an active investigation into Soto's disappearance.
